Living Life: Suggestions for Sleeping Better

I sometimes have problems sleeping. I can usually fall asleep okay, but I often wake up in the middle of the night and have difficulty falling back asleep. I’m not sure what the reason is (it doesn’t seem to be stress) as I usually go to bed feeling quite content and happy! I’ve done a lot of research on sleep over the years, but I still can’t find the right “puzzle piece” to insert into my routine that will give me a consistently good night’s sleep. So, I did some more research….

This time I came across an article with the title, “20 Simple Tips That Help You Fall Asleep Quickly” on healthline.com. The introduction states:

Good sleep is incredibly important.

It helps you feel good and makes your body and brain function properly.

Some people have no problem falling asleep. However, many others have severe difficulty falling and staying asleep through the night.

Poor sleep can have negative effects on many parts of your body and brain, including learning, memory, mood, emotions, and various biological functions.

I found some interesting, new information in this lengthy article, which I hadn’t read before. I decided that what I needed to do was to incorporate, slowly but surely, all 20 of these “tips” into my daily routine! I’m currently working on this right now, and I thought some of you might benefit from these tips as well!

I believe that with prayer and persistence we can discover ways to enhance our ability to sleep well. Through natural remedies and/or medical means, there is always hope! I find comfort in the following scripture and hope that we will all be at peace and find our sleep “sweet” every night!

When thou liest down,
thou shalt not be afraid:
yea, thou shalt lie down,
and thy sleep shall be sweet.

—Proverbs 3: 24
